Côte de Beaune

A key wine-producing district of Burgundy in the east of France.

The Côte de Beaune area is the southern part of the Côte d'Or, the limestone ridge that is home to the great names of Burgundy wine. The Côte de Beaune starts between Nuits-Saint-Georges and Beaune, and extends southwards for about 25 km to the river Dheune. The trend of producing red wines continues from the Côte de Nuits to the north, down through Beaune, although the wines become lighter and more perfumed. Farther south lie the great names of white Burgundy such as Meursault and Chassagne-Montrachet.

PRODUCER; In Sardinia, Un Mare Di Vino, a family-run property since 1949, embraces modern winemaking while honoring past teachings. The estate consistently delivers quality wines with a nod to tradition.

TASTING NOTE; Fresh and elegant with golden apple, white peach, grapefruit aromas and floral notes. Versatile and approachable wine.

VITICULTURE & WINEMAKING; Grapes from a vineyard planted in 2008 in the area of Berchidda (Olbia Tempio), in Sardinia. Trained using the low cordon and short Guyot methods. Hand-harvested. The grapes are refrigerated for 24-48 hours. After destemming, the grapes are kept at 0°C for 48-72 hours before light pressed. The must then ferments in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature for a week. It is aged on lees for several months.
