Côte de Beaune

A key wine-producing district of Burgundy in the east of France.

The Côte de Beaune area is the southern part of the Côte d'Or, the limestone ridge that is home to the great names of Burgundy wine. The Côte de Beaune starts between Nuits-Saint-Georges and Beaune, and extends southwards for about 25 km to the river Dheune. The trend of producing red wines continues from the Côte de Nuits to the north, down through Beaune, although the wines become lighter and more perfumed. Farther south lie the great names of white Burgundy such as Meursault and Chassagne-Montrachet.

PRODUCER; Belardent, from the Languedoc, epitomizes LGI's commitment to value. Founded by Alain Grignon in 1999, LGI collaborates with local producers, creating delicious wines using modern techniques. Xavier Roger and Cédric Duquenoy ensure a superb quality-to-price ratio.

TASTING NOTE; Lip-puckering freshness, dry on the palate, with zesty citrus and stone fruit complemented by a distinct salinity. It’s perfect for drinking in the garden on a sunny day or anytime as an alternative to Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio.

VITICULTURE & WINEMAKING; Sourced from vineyards located in on the edges of the Thau Lagoon and regarded as some of the oldest in the Mediterranean. Grapes are gently crushed and pressed to extract the juice without compromising the delicate flavors. The juice undergoes a controlled fermentation at low temperatures in stainless steel tanks to retain the grape's crispness and aromatic qualities.
