Product Details

Golden yellow in color, with aromas of lemon citrus, green apple, and white flowers on a woody background. The palate is round and balanced, with good acidity and a lingering finish. This wine is drinking beautifully now, but has the potential to age for several more years.

Producer: Jean Jacques Girard is a family domaine in Burgundy that has been in existence for over 500 years. The domaine is currently managed by Jean-Jacques and his son, Vincent, and they own 15 hectares of vineyards across various appellations in the Côte de Beaune.

Vineyard: The grapes for this wine come from a cooler section of the Savigny-Les-Beaune appellation, high up above the village. The vines are over 30 years old and produce a rich, concentrated wine with fine depth and minerality.

Winemaking: The grapes are hand-harvested and pressed gently. The juice is then fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged in oak barrels for 10 months.

Food Pairing: This wine is perfect for pairing with seafood dishes such as lobster or scallops, or for poultry dishes, such as roasted chicken or quail. It is also a good match for creamy cheeses such as Brie and Camembert.

Overall: This is a well-made and delicious Savigny-Les-Beaune Blanc from a respected producer. It is drinking beautifully now, but has the potential to age for several more years.
