In the Little Beauty vineyard, Sauvignon Blanc is the dominant variety making up 75% of our production. But for context, this is just a mere 0.10% of Marlborough’s overall production. Infinitesimal on a global scale. We’re exactly ‘what it says on the tin’ – little and beautiful!

Marlborough is one of the sunniest places in the world to grow grapes, 2400+ hours of sunshine in Marlborough annually. World critics and viticultural experts alike agree Marlborough is heaven for a Sauvignon Blanc vine. Sitting at the foot of the mighty Southern Alps, the Little Beauty vineyard benefits from being sheltered from Ocean winds. The vines are planted on ancient river terraces meaning the soils are stony and free-draining, with pristinely pure water running beneath.

The fruit was de-stemmed and gently pressed in a pneumatic press. Juice was cold settled then racked and inoculated with various yeast strains. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks to bring out the fabulous natural aromatics of the variety. Clear and bright in colour, soft lemon hue. Aroma immediately suggests richness, weight and complexity. Tropical notes like honey dew melon, mango, guava and passionfruit. Stone-fruits like white peach. Citrus notes like Seville orange and pink grapefruit. Herbal like micro-greens, snow-pea or fresh peapod. Vegetal like fresh yellow capsicum. Mineral notes like river stone. Pure.

Intense, concentrated, persistent, textured, generous, complete. Fresh and uplifting. Characters reminiscent of guava, slow roasted tomato, dried herbs, ripe pineapple, flint, pink grapefruit, passionfruit pulp. Pure.
