The wines of Bodegas LA HORRA are governed by three basic concepts:

  • Avoid excess wood
  • Avoid over-ripening - maintaining freshness
  • Perform a very careful extraction to enhance the fineness of the tannin.

CORIMBO I is the flagship wine of BODEGAS LA HORRA, full-bodied yet refined and elegant. It comes from vines averaging over 70 years old and is made entirely from the Tinta del País grape variety - Tempranillo.

This wine is a complex and elegant Ribera del Duero from one of the region's leading producers. It is made from 100% Tempranillo grapes from old vines, and is aged for 16 months in 80% French and 20% American oak barrels.

The colour has very good intensity, with a background of dark cherry color and a dark red rim.

On the nose there is subtle, exquisitely delicate, and refined, with abundant fruit notes, so harmonious they are difficult to surpass. Plum, blackberry, cherry, and sour cherry stand out, including the pit. The oak is impeccably integrated, supporting the landscape's sensations, yet always remaining in the background.

On the palate, the wine has good volume, yet it feels light, long, and delicate, with a strong fruity character. The tannins are perfect, fine, and fresh. Mineral notes emerge from the limestone soil and the aromatic plants of the pine forest. Overall, it's a very well-finished wine. The rainy and cool vintage leaves its mark of abundant elegance.

The wine is versatile and can be paired with a variety of foods, such as grilled meats, roasted vegetables, and rich stews.

The wine has received rave reviews from wine critics, with critics scoring it between 94 - 96 points.
