In 1986 Château Beaumont started on its 12th life with the arrival of the GMF group, which joined with Japanese group Suntory to create the company Grands Millésimes de France, also owner of Château Beychevelle and the Bordeaux merchant Barrière Frères.

Located on the left bank of the Gironde, between the communes of Margaux and Saint-Julien, Château Beaumont draws its finesse and its delicacy from the deep gravels of the best soils of the Haut-Médoc.

Vineyard area : 113 ha in a single block. Grape varieties : 59% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot, 9% Petit Verdot.

Ageing :
12 to 14 months in barrels, one-third of them renewed each year

Average annual production :
600 000 bottles


Status: Peak Maturity. This wine is currently at its absolute best. The 2010 vintage in Bordeaux provided high acidity and firm tannins, which has allowed this "smaller" estate to age much better than it would in a standard year.

Recent notes from early 2026 suggest the wine has "softened significantly" and is now "smooth with a medium finish." However, some users note the fruit is beginning to decrease in favour of "pencil shavings and leather" notes, suggesting you should look to enjoy your remaining bottles over the next 24 months or so.

I drank this, Sunday 15th February 2026 with friends very impressed: Still good fruit, Cassis, blackberry & plum which have all softened and integrated tannins with background leaf and herbal nuances. This 2010 Cru Bourgeois was in great shape and absolutely delicious.
